January next year shall mark the date to be six years ago, a quiet but promising young girl named Adebisi Oluwatobiloba came not only to live with us but to become part of the family.
She arrived with zero confidence in the future due to height of pressures, and depth of hardship faced on every side. Hope to gallantly climbed the ladder of success once again appeared staggered, daggered, and battered but at the end of the tunnel God shown up.
She struggled greatly to get on her feet timely, as we must take the responsibility under God to see her risen from where she was, to where she ought to be in all round. She was a bit shy, and struggle towards adapting to the new environment of northern Nigeria we are living but within her lies a big dream, pure potentials and coded courage the future needs if well mentored.
With God working through our hearts and tongues in affirming to her tough lecturers can be overcome; complex courses can be simplified; common tide of financial hiccups atimes on campus can be stemmed with moderation and contentment, and above all pressure to yield towards the direction of juvenile delinquency can be tamed through godliness and self-denial do not only call her to order but made her smart, straight and success driven daughter.
"I was in my study room" when she dashed in to the house, and shout "daddy, I made it" with trembling tone of joy, and true voice of an achiever. Oluwatobiloba's journey from a struggling girl to a First Class graduate in Fishery Technology reminded me that greatness lives in those who refuse to give up, those who doesn't yield only to their God-given parents but true God they serve.
